A sex offender is one of two men facing burglary and sex charges in the case of an online relationship with a 14-year-old girl.



On January 12 Washington County deputies arrested Dennis Keomoungkhoune (pictured, left) and Jover Mabaet (pictured, right), both 21, after the victim’s father said he found them in bed with her.

Detectives said the two met the girl in person, then furthered the relationship online through MySpace.com.

Keomoungkhoune did time in an Oregon prison for sex crimes, and deputies said Mabaet was also being investigated for another MySpace relationship with an underage girl.

Investigators think the suspects may have also been involved with other victims through the Internet.

Both were jailed on $370,000 bail for burglary, third-degree rape and using a child in a sexually explicit display.

MySpace sued after sex attacks on girls

LOS ANGELES - A 14-year-old upstate New York girl went on MySpace last year looking for new friends, but she ended up being raped by two young men who stalked the site looking for easy prey, her lawyer says.

Now the girl's family is one of four suing News Corp. and its popular social-circle Web site for alleged negligence, recklessness and fraud after their underage daughters were sexually abused by creeps they met on the site.

The lawsuits filed Wednesday in Los Angeles, where MySpace is based, contend the company failed to provide adequate security to protect young users from online predators.

"We hope the damages will be substantial - in the millions of dollars - enough to make My.Space do what is necessary to make the site safe for young people," said attorney Jason Itkin of Houston, who is part of the families' legal team.

The victims, including the New York girl, are identified only as Jane Does in court papers to protect their privacy. "The families want justice, but they do not want co-workers and schoolmates finding out and reopening the wounds," Itkin said.

The upstate girl suffered a particularly horrifying ordeal. Itkin said she was raped twice in one night when she went to a home to meet her new MySpace friends, two men aged 19 and 18 who had claimed to be younger.

"The girl now has all sorts of emotional problems. It's been a real mess trying to put things back together," said Itkin.

The 19-year-old man pleaded guilty to felony rape and is in prison, Itkin said. He did not know the 18-year-old's status.

Other victims include a 15-year-old girl from Pennsylvania, two South Carolina sisters, ages 14 and 15, and a 15-year-old Texas girl who was lured to a meeting, drugged and assaulted last year by an adult MySpace user who is now serving a 10-year prison sentence for the crime.

MySpace said it takes "proactive measures to protect our members" but stressed that parents should talk to their kids about Internet safety.

"Ultimately, Internet safety is a shared responsibility," chief security officer Hemanshu Nigam said in a statement. "We encourage everyone to apply common sense offline safety lessons in their online experiences and engage in open family dialogue about smart Web practices."

-- A 15-year-old Texas girl, "Julie Doe III," who was lured to a meeting,
drugged and assaulted in 2006 by an adult MySpace user. Houston police
officers and Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) agents located the
girl. The adult MySpace user later pled guilty to sexual assault and is
serving a 10-year sentence in a Texas penitentiary. (The cause number
is SC092423.)

-- A 14-year-old New York girl, "Julie Doe IV," was lured to a meeting by
an adult MySpace user, severely intoxicated with alcohol and illicit
drugs forced upon her, and then sexually assaulted by the adult MySpace
user and his adult friend. The men later were charged with felony
sexual assault and/or felony rape by New York authorities. The friend
of the adult MySpace user pled guilty and is now in a New York
penitentiary. The adult MySpace user is awaiting trial. (The cause
number is SC092424.)

-- Two South Carolina sisters, 14-year-old "Julie Doe V" and 15-year-old
"Julie Doe VI," who were lured to a meeting, severely intoxicated by
alcohol and illicit drugs, and sexually assaulted and raped by two
adult MySpace users. Both men were arrested by South Carolina
authorities and are awaiting criminal prosecution. (The cause number is

Attorney Jason A. Itkin, of Arnold & Itkin LLP, stated, "Like state attorneys general throughout the nation, we believe that more must be done to ensure that social networking sites are made safer. In our view, MySpace waited entirely too long to attempt to institute meaningful security measures that effectively increase the safety of their underage users."

It's amazing how despite being unsurprised by events such as this, given the amount of White predation taking place, it never ceases to enrage, each and every report in this forum.

Why do Whites always feel that the remedy is to be found in a lawsuit??? On this point I find more fault with the parents than with Myspace, for the simple reason that while their daughters were exposing themselves to the possibility of nonwhite predation WHERE WERE THE PARENTS??? As usual White parents have subcontracted their parenting responsibilities out to the media, in this case Myspace is somehow responsible for not doing WHAT THESE PARENTS SHOULD HAVE BEEN DOING!
