Ex-Cowboys QB faces drug charge
Irving: Police say Carter caused disturbance at home, had marijuana

Former Dallas Cowboys quarterback Quincy Carter was arrested early Friday on a charge of possession of marijuana.

Police arrived to a home in the 100 block of West Shady Grove Road in south Irving about 5:30 a.m. Friday, where they found Mr. Carter inside a house causing a disturbance, said Officer David Tull, police spokesman.

Mr. Carter, who was booked into the jail under his full name Lavonya Quintelle Carter, was found with less than two ounces of marijuana, a class B misdemeanor, Irving police said.

He was released from the Irving Jail about 4 p.m. Friday after posting $500 bail, jail officials said. His bail was paid by Fort Worth Star-Telegram sports columnist Randy Galloway, who's also the host of the radio sports-talk show Galloway and Company on ESPN-FM (103.3).

Mr. Galloway said he didn't see a conflict of interest in posting bail since Mr. Carter is no longer playing.

"I've had a lot of fun with Quincy over the years, his problems and everything else," Mr. Galloway said. "But it's Christmas and Quincy Carter is in jail, and I hate to see that happen. ... For him to be in the position today where he can't post a $500 bond, there's unfortunate problems in his life."

Mr. Carter was released from the Cowboys in August 2004 after multiple reports that he failed a drug test, which violated the National Football League's substance abuse policy. He enrolled in a drug rehabilitation program a short time later.

After he was signed as a backup quarterback for the New York Jets in fall 2004, he left the team in February 2005 to re-enter rehab for alleged drug use.

Mr. Carter signed with the Montreal Alouettes of the Canadian Football League in April 2006 but was released a month later.

Don't be surprised that this all occurred at 5:30 AM. Niggers go to sleep at sunrise, so that they can be sure to avoid any kind of responsible work and awaken ready for a fresh night of T.N.B. monkeyshines!

FORT WORTH, Texas -- Former Dallas Cowboys quarterback Quincy Carter was arrested in Shreveport on a drug charge early Friday morning.

Carter was booked into the Shreveport City Jail at about 4 a.m. after being charged with possession of marijuana. Carter was later transferred to the Caddo Correctional Center.
In a news release, police said the incident began at about 1:30 a.m. when an officer stopped a silver car that was reported to have been involved in selling drugs at the Circle K convenience store at Youree and Southfield.

While stopped, the officer smelled alcohol on Carter and transported him to the DWI Unit for testing. Carter was found not to be intoxicated but did have about three grams of marijuana in his pants pocket, officials said.

Carter was charged with second offense possession of marijuana, a felony.

This isn't Carter's first arrest in connection with a drug charge. Last December, Carter was arrested on a drug charge in Irving following a domestic disturbance call.
