10 youths arrested in hate-crime attack
Attackers fled after Good Samaritan interrupted fight.

LONG BEACH - Ten youths were arrested, nine of them girls, and charged with a hate-crime attack Tuesday night after allegedly jumping a group of young females and beating them.

Police learned about the beatings shortly after a Good Samaritan interrupted the melee and came to the victims' aid, said Officer Jackie Bezart, a Long Beach Police Department spokeswoman.

The victims told police they were walking on the 3800 block of Linden Avenue at about 9:15 p.m. on their way to a haunted house when they were taunted, then jumped and beaten up, Bezart said.

The girls said there
was a large group of young black boys and girls gathered in the area as they walked up the street. When the victims - who are all white - walked by the group, the black youths began taunting them and shouting racial slurs, Bezart said.

At some point, the verbal attack turned physical and the victims - believed to be two girls and one adult - sustained substantial injuries, Bezart said.

One of the victims was also robbed of her cell phone, the officer added.

After the Good Samaritan intervened, the attackers fled.

Witnesses, however, gave very good suspect descriptions and all of the culprits were rounded up Tuesday night by North Division patrol officers and arrested, Bezart said.
The one boy and nine girls range in age from 12 to 17 years old, she said.

Rope'em, jam their cell phones in their mouths, put them on the Long Beach pier, kick'em in the back and watch'em drown.... it might be justice if the sharks get'em while they cry for Mama. All of ten of them of course.

A horrific update on this case thanks to National Vanguard. There was a LOT more to this than the initial report stated. My god, can you imagine what would happen if the victims were Black and the offenders White? This would be beyond Nationwide reporting!

FOURTY NIGGERS BEATING THREE WHITE GIRLS!!!!!!!

Words absolutely, utterly fail me with this one, theres nothing I can possibly say to describe how I feel about this savage attack. Any decent White person seeing this happen WOULD grab a gun and begin shooting!

Victims of attack share their story
Crime: 10 arrested after attack on Halloween; $2,500 reward offered for information about other suspects still at large.

LONG BEACH - Several suspects including at least three men who savagely beat three young women in a horrific hate crime attack Halloween night remained at large Friday.

The three victims - two of whom are 19 and the third 21 - agreed to sit down with a Press-Telegram reporter and discuss the painful attack in the hope that someone who knows the culprits will turn them in to police.

The young women asked to be identified by only their first names of Laura, Michelle and Lauren because they and their families fear for their safety. The assault, they said, was so savage they thank God they are alive.

`A pack of hyenas'

The victims - along with throngs of other people - had gone to the 3800 block of Linden Avenue around 9:30 p.m. for a popular Halloween block party. As they walked up to an elaborate haunted house, they said, a group of about a dozen males began taunting them.

"They asked us, `Are you down with it?,' we had no idea what that mean
t so we didn't say anything and just walked by them up to the haunted house," said Laura, "They were grabbing their crotches - we didn't know if it was a gang thing or what."

After making their way through a maze at the house, the three girls said they were back in the same spot where they were confronted and next to the same guys, who again taunted them. Still saying nothing, the three victims tried to walk away but were pelted with lemons and small pumpkins that split the seams on their costumes and left lumps and bruises on their bodies.
The taunts and jeers grew more aggressive, the victims recalled, as did the size of the crowd. Now females joined in, and everyone began saying "We hate white people, f--- whites!"

At this point, the girls began to run, but the pack of assailants ran ahead of them and kept them surrounded.

"It was like animals, like a pack of hyenas," Michelle said.

She was trying to call 911 on her cell phone when the taunts began, but kept get
ting busy signals. She tried three times to call, she said, but never got through to an operator.

The suspects also began to gradually separate the girls, first by grabbing Laura by her long hair and yanking her backward.

She said she tried to fight off a group of girls who surrounded her and were clawing and hitting her, but then a man came up and slammed her in the head with a skateboard, knocking her unconscious.

"One of the witnesses told the police that he saw my legs go straight up in the air and I hit the ground face first," she said, accounting for the bumps and bruises on her forehead and around her nose and eyes.

Her friends watched, horrified as the man raised the skateboard over his head and slammed her again as she lay on the ground. Others in the pack also began to hit and kick her motionless body.

Fearing their friend would be killed, the other two girls rushed to her aid.

Saved by a Samaritan

Lauren was
the first at Laura's side, and a group of people immediately jumped on her and began punching her in the face and back of the head simultaneously.
Some kicked her in the back of knees, causing her legs to buckle. At one point, when they got her cell phone away from her, Lauren said she knelt down to try and retrieve the phone.

"Once I knelt down, there was too much of a force on top of me to get back up," she said. "They were pounding on my back, on my head. ... They were kicking at the ball that was me."

Lauren suffered 12 fractures in her face, including four to her eye socket, three to her nose and three to her cheek.

Doctors don't yet know if she will regain all of her eyesight. Until the swelling goes down, they won't know if she'll require surgery to repair the many broken bones.

Forced to drop her college photography classes this semester because she cannot see well enough to use the camera, Lauren also can't blow her nose or sleep lying down. The pressure,
doctors told her, could cause any of the fractured bones to shift, which could lead to her eye becoming detached from the shattered socket.

Michelle said she saw the group drag Lauren down as she rushed up and knocked the man with the skateboard off Laura. But then he then turned on her, punching her in both sides of her face and in the ribs.

Her face, like Lauren's and Laura's, is bruised and swollen. The lining that surrounds her lungs is also bruised.

As the man beat on Michelle, Laura regained consciousness and tried to pull him off her friend. But others in the pack immediately began to hammer at her again, she said.

She, like Lauren, suffered a concussion as well as multiple contusions. The lumps and marks on the back of her head and her back show where she was stomped, kicked and punched as she lay on the ground.

In all, the attack lasted about 10 minutes, and it ended only when a Good Samaritan driving by the melee stopped a
nd physically blocked the battered girls bodies while yanking the assailants off the victims.

Maybe because he was also black, or because he was so tall and strong, the group broke up and scattered to several cars and fled, the victims said.

"If it wasn't for that guy, honestly, I don't think these two would be here today," Michelle said.

Shortly after the attack, police arrested 10 juveniles on a charge of felony hate crimes, including counts for assault with a deadly weapon, battery and robbery.

Some of the 10 youths - nine girls and one boy ranging in age from 12 to 17 - were found wearing the victim's earrings - which were ripped from their flesh - and had Lauren's cell phone.

Others still at large

The victims were able to identify all 10 but said there are several others who participated who remain at large. They estimated that at least 25 people took part in the attack, while witnesses who live on the block t
old police the crowd looked to have between 30 and 40 people.

"I heard these thumping sounds and all these people yelling "F--- whites, f--- whites!" said one resident who witnessed the attack.

She spoke on condition of anonymity, fearing the assailants might return to her neighborhood and attack her and other witnesses.

"I have such mixed feelings," she added. "I'm so ashamed that I didn't try to run out there and stop them, but it was terrifying."

"I've never seen anything like that in my life," she added. "I can't even describe it. I'm still terrified."

She said she called 911, along with several of her neighbors, and screamed frantically for help as a dispatcher tried to calm her down. North Division officers found the 10 youths not far from the scene of the crime in a grocery store parking lot.

One girl's mother said she doesn't blame witnesses who were too frightened to intervene.

And she and the other mothers said over and over how
grateful they are to the man who saved their daughters' lives.

"I can't imagine," Barbara said, her eyes shining with tears. "I can't imagine anyone doing that to another human being, or even an animal."

Now the mothers are working with police and imploring the district attorney's office to prosecute the youths as adults and to seek the harshest sentences possible. They have raised $2,500 for a reward fund so far, and are taking more donations in the hope it will spur someone to turn those responsible in to authorities.

Most of all, the girls and their mothers want the three men - who appeared to be in their early 20s - to be arrested.

A team of detectives have been assigned to the case, and the police response has the victims and their families confident that the men will soon be found.

Anyone with information about the suspects or the incident is urged to call police at the Youth Services Division, at (562) 570-1426, or Violent Crimes Division, at (562) 570-7250.

"Anything anyone can do, please help," said one of the mothers. "These people ... they don't belong in society."

Whites Beaten In Long Beach Racial Attacks Say They Love Negroes
Diversity Lovers Experienced Diversity

Discuss this story in the forum
LSN Staff

Long Beach, California -- Three white women who were beaten by a mob of angry Negroes who shouted "fuuck white people" and "We hate white people" have said that they love Negroes and remain committed to diversity and multiculturalism despite their experience.

"Our girls were never raised to think like that, and they won't start now," one moonbat mother of the victims, who attacked "white supremacists" who made racial comments on the Long Beach Press-Telegram's website, stated to the press today. "This has been horrible enough, we certainly don't want it to escalate further."

r
A spokesman for the girls said they wanted to "reduce racial tension" by working to promote "multiculturalism" and working with the Negro "community".

On Halloween night the three girls, two aged 19 and one aged 21, were attacked by a mob of Negroes after they refused sexual advances from a group of nigger males who were shouting sexual slurs and obscenities at white women outside a popular haunted house show. (nigger foreplay) The Negroes, aged 13 to 17, threw the girls to the ground and viciously beat them, fracturing one girl's skull so badly she can no longer sleep lying down because her bones are in so many pieces the pressure of laying on her head might tear her skull apart.

The ten niggers arrested all face life imprisonment on three counts of adult felony assault with a deadly weapon and one count of robbery. Hate crime charges have not yet been filed but are being considered.

Additional nigger apes are being sought in the case. As many as forty niggers may ha
ve participated in the attack.

Blacks are low IQ animals from the jungles of Africa who barely performed as slaves and are now given unreasonable benefits and preferences in the United States under the Jewish system of "multiculturalism".

THREE WHITE GIRLS ATTACK TWENTY BLACKS
--HATE CRIME SUSPECTED

Three white girls attacked about twenty blacks on Halloween night in Long Beach, California and forced the blacks to beat the girls with a skateboard and to use anti-white epithets. Police say that hate crime charges may be filed against the white girls.

Ref: More suspects sought in attack

Long Beach police have arrested 10 youths in the assault
of three women at a Halloween party.

Long Beach police continue to hunt for additional suspects in a Halloween night attack on three young women.

Already, nine girls and one boy have been arrested and charged with felony assault. But authorities said there were still more involved in the incident, which occurred in an upscale neighborhood blocks from the Virginia Country Club.

And by all accounts, it was an attack with racial overtones: The three victims, two of them 19 and one 20, are white; all of those arrested are black.

So, too, was the man who waded into the melee and rescued the women.

The assault on the women "appears to have been completely unprovoked," said Jackie Bezart, a spokeswoman for the Long Beach Police Department.

The incident occurred about 9:30 p.m. Oct. 31 in the 3800 block of Linden Avenue, where the women had gone for a popular Halloween block party.

According to an account published in the Long Beach Press-Telegram, the women, whose full names wer
e not divulged, were confronted by a group of about 12 males before and after they went through a haunted house on the street.

As the size of the crowd grew, the women were hit with lemons and small pumpkins. Then came a series of anti-white epithets and, in a matter of minutes, the women had been set upon by the crowd, while onlookers did nothing to stop the attack.

The women were beaten, one of them to unconsciousness.

One of the women was smashed in the head with a skateboard and kicked, while the other two were pummeled in the face and body.

At that point, a passerby whose name was not released by police started pulling attackers off the women.

"He went in there and started taking people off the dog pile," said Long Beach Police Sgt. David Cannan. "That guy was able to go in and do something others couldn't do. He stepped in. I hope he gets some recognition."

When police arrived, they arrested the 10 minors, who remain in custody. Two detectives
have been assigned to the case.

"It's not like they were pushing and shoving at school," Bezart said. "For all of them to be held over means it's being taken very seriously."

She also said it was disturbing to her that nine of those arrested were girls "with such a violent mind-set that they can so quickly go on the attack. It's a testimony to the world we live in today."

"We're still looking for witnesses and suspects," she said. "We know there were a lot of people out that night. It takes time to get all the stories from people. And it takes a little while to really follow through."

8 Nigger Terrorists Are Charged With Hate Crime In Long Beach

Defense Puke Says They Are Good Kids
November 23, 2006

Los Angeles County prosecutors Wednesday filed hate crime charges against eight black youths accused of beating three white women on Halloween night in an incident that startled Long Beach.

Authorities said they concluded that the suspects seven girls and one boy beat the women in the upscale Bixby Knolls area because they were white.

The case has been the subject of a wrenching public dialogue over the last few weeks in the racially diverse city of 460,000, with civil rights groups such as the National Assn. for the Advancement of Colored People expressing
dismay over the attack and the city holding a public forum meant to ease tensions.

The violence occurred on a predominantly white block known for elaborate Halloween decorations and fancy candy. According to police, a group of black youths mostly teeniggers but some as young as 12 allegedly hurled racial insults at the women, threw objects at them and then knocked them to the ground with kicks, punches and skateboard blows.

The attack was broken up by a black man who stopped his car and pulled the assailants away. But the women two of them 19 years old, the other 21 suffered injuries, including broken bones.

"What could have possibly gone through their mind to make them think this kind of behavior was OK?" Long Beach police Officer Jackie Bezart asked. What minds?

The youths, who also face felony assault charges, appeared in court Wednesday and pleaded not guilty. Attorneys for some of them said they
were good students and had no history of criminal behavior
.

One of the girls is in line to receive an athletic scholarship from USC and had represented the United States at a track meet in China, her attorney told the court. He asked the judge to allow the girl out of Juvenile Hall so she could take her SAT and complete college-prep classes.

"She's anxious to return to life as she knew it, a typical young girl who is concerned with the prom, her schooling, boys and athletics," attorney Frank Williams Jr. said. "They are all good girls. They stand to lose a lot."

He urged the public not to judge the youths until they could present their side of the story.

Williams said the youths didn't live in the immediate area, but went there to enjoy the Halloween festivities.

"Understand that what has been out there is one side of what happened," he said. "I would suggest the community refrain from arriving at any conclusions or any
opinions until there's been a hearing to determine what actually happened."

The incident has been a topic of much debate in a city that has long prided itself on its racial diversity.

"I think everyone has been on edge," Long Beach Councilwoman Tonia Reyes Uranga said. "We have neighbors looking at neighbors wondering what they knew and what their involvement was. There's an underlying uneasiness."

Anitra Dempsey, the city's human dignity officer, said she got calls from blacks fearful of a backlash and from whites fearful of being targeted. Reyes Uranga added that one black woman told her that she was worried about going to a local grocery store for fear that white shoppers might think that she was connected to the attack.

Police allege that a "pack mentality" took hold that Halloween night.

"There was an opportunity for anonymity, and maybe some of these kids did something they normally would not
do," Long Beach police Cmdr. Jeff Johnson said.

Bixby Knolls is in a posh section of Long Beach north of the 405 Freeway, near the Virginia Country Club and Rancho Los Cerritos. But the area is bounded on the north by poorer parts of North Long Beach, which has long struggled with crime and gang problems.

Johnson said racial tensions do exist in some quarters of the city. "At schools, sometimes you find tension between blacks and Hispanics. But nothing like this," he said. "This is an aberration."Read NNN lately??

Officials said the three white women were on Linden Avenue to attend the Halloween block party. Shortly before they were attacked, they had been subjected to catcalls from a group of mostly young black males, Johnson said.

Moments later, the women were pelted with lemons and small pumpkins. Then the group of black youths shouted anti-white slurs before physically attacking them, Johnson said.

The women late
r recounted the incident to the Long Beach Press-Telegram, saying that they did nothing to provoke the attack and were grossly outnumbered.

"Yeah, three of us decided to take on a mob," one of the women told the paper.

They said a dozen males began to taunt them and made suggestive comments before they entered a haunted house. When they got out, the crowd had grown, and some of the girls began shouting.

One of the women told the newspaper that she tried to stave off the attack but was struck in the head by a skateboard, knocking her unconscious.
Then the Good Samaritan came to their rescue.

"If it wasn't for that guy, honestly, I don't think these two would be here today," one woman said, referring to her friends.

Eight of the alleged attackers were charged with hate crimes and assault counts; two others were charged only with assault. Because the defendants are juveniles, a judge, not a jury, will render verdicts. If convict
ed, the defendants face punishments ranging from probation to confinement in the California Youth Authority.

Los Angeles County district attorney's spokeswoman Sandi Gibbons said prosecutors decided to file the hate crimes charges after receiving the results of the full investigation from Long Beach police.

"You hate to see hatred like this, actions like this in young people," Gibbons said. "The bottom line is if you see somebody and attack them because of the color of their skin, or because their religion is different or because you don't like their sexual preference, then it's a hate crime."

Reports of hate crimes in which whites have been the targets are relatively unusual, according to a report by the county's Human Relations Commission. The report, based on 2004 numbers, showed that blacks were targeted in 55% of the reported cases; Latinos, 22%; Asians, 10%, and whites, 7%. The survey examined reports of hate crimes, not necessarily cases in which prosecutors had filed charges.:
rolleyes:

One of the most famous black-on-white, race-related crimes in Los Angeles occurred amid the rioting of 1992, when Reginald Denny was pulled out of his truck and beaten by several black men.

In Long Beach, the president of the local branch of the NAACP called the Halloween violence "deplorable," adding that the organization would monitor the case to ensure a fair trial.

"We're deeply saddened that this incident occurred," said Naomi Rainey, a resident of Long Beach for more than 35 years. "But right now we do not have sufficient information to determine whether this is a true hate crime and we just have to monitor this."

For Reyes Uranga, the city has a chance to live up to its reputation.

"We brag about being the most culturally diverse city in the nation, and if we can't get over this in a productive, positive way, that title is going to be meaningless," she said. "I'm hoping people will all calm down and not get caught up in t
he hate."

Victim describes beating

Woman, 21, vividly testifies about brutal Halloween attack in Bixby Knolls.
By Tracy Manzer, Staff writer

Article Launched:12/01/2006 11:01:09 PM PST

LONG BEACH - A 21-year-old woman who had a dozen bones on one side of her face shattered during a Halloween attack testified in court Friday, recalling the beating in chilling detail.

The victim - who asked the Press-Telegram in previous interviews to be identified by only her first name, Loren, out of concern for her safety - was with two friends visiting a haunted house in Bixby Knolls when the three white women were attacked by a group of black youths.

She appeared composed and confident while on the witness stand. The only moment that revealed any nervousness came as she stood next to a diagram where she was asked to note her position and the position of her friends and the attackers at the time of the beating.

As Deputy District Attorney Andrea Bouas and several defense attorneys stopped for a brief discussion, Loren nervously capped and uncapped a red marker as she waited for the prosecutor's questions to resume.

Loren's mother said outside court that the 21-year-old victim was horribly nervous about testifying, having never done it before.

Her daughter is also struggling with her extensive injuries, she said. A team of doctors, including two surgeons, are trying to determine how best to treat her dizzy spells and her drooping eye.

Several of her teeth have died and will have to be replaced with a partial plate. No one yet knows if she will regain the sight partially lost in the one eye.

She is studying photography, and her injuries forced her to drop all her college classes this year. Her injuries could destroy her dreams of pursuing a career as a professional photographer.

Loren was perhaps the most seriously hurt the night of the attack, which resulted in the arrest of 10 Long Beach youths - 9 girls and one boy, ages 12 to 19 - within moments of the 9:30 p.m. beating.

A few days later, police arrested two 17-year-old males, both from Long Beach. They have been charged with the same counts for which the 10 minors are currently being tried, or adjudicated as it is called in juvenile court.
(Hang these little Niggers now!!!!)

The charge includes three felony counts of assault by any means of force to produce great bodily injury. Eight of the 10 minors currently in court had a hate crime enhancement added to their charges, and the two 17-year-old boys - whose adjudications are set for early January - also face the hate crime allegation.

All of the minors are black, and witness statements that the youths shouted racial slurs while beating the three victims have resulted in community and nationwide outrage.

Court proceedings so far have been slow, due in part to the difficulty of transporting the 10 minors to the Long Beach courthouse from various Los Angeles County juvenile detention centers.

Each minor has his or her own attorney, to avoid a conflict of interest, making for drawn-out arguments at times.

Friday's session, scheduled to begin at 1:30 p.m., started late after the prosecutor argued defense lawyers had violated Superior Court Judge Gibson Lee's order the previous day.

On Thursday, defense attorneys told reporters they changed the seating of the defendants. Until then, all the minors had sat directly behind their attorneys.

When the district attorney asked the first witness to take the stand to identify the minors in court Thursday, she matched the wrong police photograph to one of the girls in court.

Defense attorneys seized on the mistake. During cross examination the witness admitted the error, saying she could not see all of the defendants and therefore picked the wrong one (Who can tell Apes at the zoo from one another. They look like Apes.). After further prompting, she said she based her identification the night of the arrest largely on what the minors were wearing, not their facial features.

Prior to the start of testimony Friday, Bouas argued that the defense attorneys had talked about moving the defendants but were told by the judge not to, according to bailiffs and officers in the closed courtroom.

The minors were rearranged anyway and Bouas accused the defense of running a "shell game," officers said.

Many of the defense attorneys became angry at the accusation, the officers said. They told the judge they did not know how the youths had been rearranged, but agreed to have the minors seated behind their assigned lawyer from now on.

"The judge stopped short of saying they violated an order," one officer said. "But he made it clear that it would not happen again."

All the officers spoke on condition of anonymity.

Once that matter was settled, the public was allowed into the courtroom and Bouas began with Loren's testimony.

Loren described how she and her friends began the night at her house, where they dressed in their costumes - she as Betty Boop, her friend Michelle as a pirate and her friend Laura as a vampire.

They had decided to go see the haunted house, located on Linden Avenue at the corner of Bixby Road, while they were waiting for a fourth friend to get off work. That was when they were all going to go to a costume party, she said.

When she and her friends arrived at the haunted house, she said, a young black male - whom she estimated to be 17 to 19 years old - was standing with a group of youths and began hollering "Are you with it?" at her and her friends while grabbing his crotch.

After the victims made their way through the haunted house and returned to the front yard where they had started, she noticed the crowd had grown larger and included girls and boys.

"He said, `Are you with it?' again," Loren testified. "He was loud, he was yelling."

The crowd was also getting louder and more boisterous and the victims could hear other things, she said.

"I heard them (say) something about the white people and `white b---."' Loren testified.

She described trying to walk away and being pelted with pumpkins and lemons. She was hit in the back of the head and in her back. The force was strong enough to cause pain, she recalled.

She also recalled seeing one of her friends - Laura - get hit in the back and in the legs. That is when her friend turned around and told the crowd to stop.

As Laura turned back toward Loren and Michelle, she said, she saw at least two girls grab that friend by her long hair and her dress and yank her backward.

"I heard one voice say, `I f------ hate white people,"' Loren testified.

It was a male voice that shouted the statement, loud enough to be heard over the shouting crowd, she said.

At about the same time she said she heard male and female voices saying, "white b---," and the group surged toward Laura, partially surrounding her friend and cutting off her access to Michelle and Loren.

Loren recalled yelling to Michelle that they were getting separated. Michelle was shouting back that she was calling 911 as she dialed her cell phone.

The victim described, and was asked to demonstrate, how her friend was knocked to the ground. Loren then recalled seeing a young man flip a skateboard he had at his side up over his head.

"I saw him flip it up and swing in the direction of Laura," she testified, describing the suspect as black, tall and with a medium build, adding that he was big but not overweight.

His hair was close to his head, in either braids or corn rows, she added.

Loren said she rushed back to Laura but was quickly surrounded by a group of about a dozen people, mostly girls. They circled her in two rows, one inside the other, she described.

She first felt someone kick the back of her leg, just below her knee, and her leg buckled. But she did not fall, the victim testified.

Punches to her face and the back of her head rained down on her, with more than one person hitting her and most of them girls, she said.

She felt her left cheek pop from the force of one extremely strong blow and assumed it was from a male.

She said she ducked her face and flailed her arms, trying to stop her attackers, but they continued beating her.

"I could feel the rhythm of one-two ... getting punched in the back of the head and the face," she recalled.

She was eventually knocked to the ground when she tried to flip open her cell phone to call for help, and it was knocked out of her hand, she said.

Many of them were girls, she said. Some were wearing sweaters with the Rocawear logo, several had braids and some wore hoop earrings, Loren testified.

Rocawear is a popular line of clothing created by rapper Jay-Z. (Hang this cRapper Ape with the rest of them for inciting their TNB acts !!!)

Curled in a ball on her knees, Loren said she wrapped her arms over her head and kept her legs tucked under her body. She could feel people pounding her with their fists and kicking her, striking her on top of her head, around her face, her back and up and down her body, she said.

"Once I hit the ground, I remember being kicked by what I thought was a man," she testified. "Because the force was so hard, and when I looked up I thought I could see ... male legs."

At one point, she peered out from under her arm and said she could see one of her friends laying on the ground.

"She was being stepped on," she testified. "It looked like males."

It didn't stop until a black man ran up and began pulling people off her, Loren said. She recalled him yelling at the youths to stop.

She said a young black woman grabbed her under her arms and helped her stand up, taking her closer to where her friends were standing.

The woman screamed for ice for the victim's swollen and bloody face as neighbors began to come forward, Loren recalled.

"I was bleeding really bad and grabbing at my nose," she said.

The police arrived first, followed by paramedics. Not long afterward, officers told her that they had found some people who might have been involved and wanted to drive her to a nearby parking lot to see if she could identify those people.

The victims were taken in separate vehicles one at a time, Loren said.

She sat in a police SUV with an officer who wrote down what she said as a line of youths was asked to come forward one by one into the glare of several police headlights and search lights.

She said she immediately recognized the first person, a girl in a white shirt, and told the officer, "Yeah, that's the one that beat my friend. I think she was attacking Laura."

Loren explained in court that the reason she told the officer she thought it was the girl who attacked her friend, rather than say she knew it was the girl, was because she had been instructed to be as specific as possible.

She had seen the girl going toward Laura, she said.

"She was attacking Laura, but I wasn't positive she was punching her or pushing her," Loren explained.

She also said she wasn't able to identify all the minors arrested that night.

As the district attorney began to show the victim police photos taken of the 10 youths in the parking lot, several defense attorneys objected.

Showing the victim the photos before asking her to identify the minors in court would coach her into saying precisely what the prosecutor wanted, they argued.

The same objection was raised with the first witness to testify; an 18-year-old who was in the area with her baby, her friend and her younger sister at the time of the beating. As in the first witness' case, the judge overruled the objection but it was quickly followed by several others made by most of the 10 defense attorneys in court.

Judge Lee ended Friday's proceedings at that point, saying he would return to the issue next week. Court is expected to resume Monday at 1:30 p.m.
