Model Allegedly Raped In Montgomery County

PHILADELPHIA - An apparent photographer in Montgomery County is in police custody after allegedly sexually assaulting a model during a photo shoot earlier this month.

Daimon Parrish was charged with the rape of a 20-year-old woman who told police she met him through a modeling website.

The victim told police she met a man named "Chance" at a Jenkintown restaurant where they arranged a photo shoot. The man, later identified as 35-year-old Daimon Parrish, allegedly took the victim to an Upper Merion Chiropractic office and sexually assaulted her.

First Assistant District Attorney Kevin Steele said Parrish worked at the chiropractic office until late 2008.

Parrish, a married father of three, was ordered by the court to stay away from public libraries in June after his arrest for lewd behavior in a Chester County branch.

He is currently being held on $500,000 bail. He is expected to appear in court for a preliminary hearing on January 6.

Judge sanctions lewd library patron - Tuesday, June 2, 2009
Quote:
WEST CHESTER — A Bryn Mawr man has been ordered to stay away from any public library, anywhere in the country, because of his lewd behavior at a branch of the Chester County Library System in Tredyffrin.

Daimon Parrish, a self-employed financial adviser and insurance agent, pleaded guilty to four counts of disorderly conduct Friday and was sentenced to consecutive 90-day probationary terms stemming from his actions at the Paoli Library in October.

Library officials and patrons said they saw Parrish posing provocatively in the stacks and touching himself, wearing revealing shorts. The staff members said his presence and behavior had been an ongoing problem for more than a year.

As part of his sentence — a negotiated plea agreement between Parrish, who represented himself, and Assistant District Attorney John Pavloff — Judge Anthony Sarcione ordered him to stay away from any library in any jurisdiction.

If he violates that provision, his probation could be revoked and he could be sentenced to prison time.

Parrish, 35, a married father of three, reportedly has a criminal record of indecent exposure. Details were unavailable.

In a criminal complaint filed in the case, Tredyffrin Officer Rhonda Carroll said she and Officer Joseph Butler were called to the library about 1:30 p.m. Oct. 11 for a report of a man walking round the library and touching himself.

When the officers arrived, they saw a man they later identified as Parrish jogging away from the building and trying to get into a car. The man was stopped and taken into custody.

Library officials told police that Parrish had been coming to the library for several months but had never checked out any items or showed a library card.

The librarians said he would regularly wear white, skin-tight shorts or see-through underwear, and that he would pose in front of staff and patrons in "unusual stances."

The posing, which was lewd in nature, made patrons and staff uncomfortable, Carroll quoted witnesses as saying.

Carroll said she checked records and learned that police had been called to the library during the previous month for similar reports.

The patrons complaining at the time identified Parrish as the man they had seen.

Charges of open lewdness were withdrawn in exchange for the guilty plea.

Parrish had been free on bail since his arrest, pending the resolution of his case.

Pa. Man Held For Trial In Model Rape

NORRISTOWN, Pa. (AP) ― A suburban Philadelphia man is being held for trial on charges he lured a model to a photo shoot and raped her.

Thirty-six-year-old Daimon Parrish of Rosemont was ordered Wednesday to stand trial for the alleged attack on a 20-year-old model last month.

Prosecutors say Parrish contacted the woman through a Web site that connects photographers and models. They say he took a few pictures then raped and assaulted her at a chiropractic office in King of Prussia.

Defense attorney James Lyons says the woman's credibility is questionable.

A judge raised Parrish's bail to $5 million at Wednesday's hearing.
