MIDWEST CITY — A man seen walking around an apartment complex covered in blood was arrested, and a woman was found dead Monday, said Midwest City Police Chief Brandon Clabes. Eric Ray Knox 28, was arrested on a homicide complaint. The name of the dead woman was not released pending notification of relatives. Clabes said Monday morning two news carriers for The Oklahoman told officers they saw a man half-dressed with blood on him walking around Willow Creek Apartments, 6000 E Reno Avenue about 5:30 a.m. The man was dressed only in a pair of jeans and he had blood on him, Clabes said. When officers found Knox, he said to them, "I just murdered someone — I call her the devil," Clabes said. Knox lived in apartment 1016, and when officers got inside the apartment, they found the dead 25 year-old woman. The body was taken to the medical examiner office for an autopsy to determine cause of death, Clabes said. Police were at the apartments about 3 a.m. Monday, after a 911 dispatcher received an anonymous call from a Willow Creek Apartments who said it sounded like the girl downstairs was being hurt. The caller wanted to remain anonymous and said on the recorded call, "it didn't sound good down there, sounds like it is getting violent—I can hear her screaming." The caller said the disturbance was coming from 1001, and when officers arrived, they knocked on that door but there was no answer. Officers checked the nearby apartments but found nothing out of the ordinary at the time. Officers also tried to obtain a working telephone number for that apartment but found none, Clabes said. Officers were on the scene for more than 10 minutes trying to determine the nature of the call, but as it turned out, the crime scene was upstairs in apartment 1016.

Investigators say 25-year-old Stacey L. Beesley was pregnant when she was killed by her live-in boyfriend Eric Ray Knox, 28, in their apartment. "This is terribly disturbing in many different ways," Police Chief Brandon Clabes said. "First, the brutal manner in which Stacey was murdered. Secondly, she was several weeks pregnant. And thirdly, the fact that it is so close to the Christmas holidays when we focus on Christian values and celebrate faith." Officers found Beesley, an assistant apartment manager who had lived with Knox for nearly six months, dead in the couple's apartment with "obvious signs of trauma." Knox was booked in to the Oklahoma County jail on two complaints of murder, stemming from the death of his fiancée and her unborn child. "Our hope is that the accused killer will spend the remaining part of his life observing holidays in a prison cell," Clabes said. MIDWEST CITY, Oklahoma – Midwest City police have identified the 25-year-old woman killed by her fiancé early Monday morning in their apartment. Stacey L. Beesley was found dead in an apartment after her fiancé Eric Knox told police he had killed her. The 25-year-old was the assistant apartment manager for Willow Creek Apartments and had been living with Knox since July of this year. ![]()

An Oklahoma man faces two murder charges in connection with the death of his fiancee and her unborn baby. Eric Knox, 28, was arrested on suspicion of first-degree murder in the death of Stacey Beesley, 24. They lived together at an apartment complex in Midwest City. Beesley's family talked to Eyewitness News 5 about how they are coping with the loss. "I just can't believe someone would beat someone to death being pregnant with their own child," said Herb Beesley, the victim's brother. Police said Knox confessed to the killing, telling police that he "just murdered someone. I call her the devil." "Stacy was not the devil; that's for sure," said Casey Ruthhardt, the victim's sister. Beesley had told her siblings that she was excited to start a family and was ecstatic about the impending birth of a baby girl. "Stacy was extremely happy. That was the kind of person Stacy was," Herb Beesley said.

An alleged killer's confession of a soon-to-be mom revealed new details into how the young woman was killed. The Beesley family of Minco said Christmas will never be the same. Instead of spending time preparing for the holidays, Herb Beesley spent Tuesday evening packing up the belongings of his little sister's life. Twenty-four-year-old Stacey Beesley was killed in the early morning hours on December 21. Midwest City Police said the suspect confessed to killing his fiancée at their Willow Creek apartment after the couple got in an argument. Court documents show Eric Knox confessed to choking her with both of his hands, punching her repeatedly in the face, kicking her face, and stabbing her with a knife. The blade was found broken off in Stacey's mouth. Investigators found the handle entangled in her hair.
