Tenn. Captain Wounded in Shooting Dies

Capt. Dennis Cagle

A Henderson captain who was shot in an armed robbery last Thursday died from his injuries yesterday morning (Dec. 13).

Capt. Dennis Cagle was shot once in the stomach at a grocery store in Chester County at approximately 8 p.m. on Dec. 10.

Ricky Steward -- who was also wounded -- was charged in the shooting with aggravated robbery and attempted first degree murder and remains in critical but stable condition.

Steward's wife, Cheryl, was also arrested and charged with aggravated robbery.
Funeral arrangements are pending.

Injured Police Officer Dies Sunday Morning

HENDERSON, Tenn.- A police officer who was shot at a grocery store died early Sunday morning.
Captain Dennis Cagle passed away early Sunday morning. Cagle was shot in the stomach on Thursday in Henderson, Tennessee in Chester County. Ricky Steward is now facing murder and robbery charges. Steward's wife is also facing robbery charges as well.
