4 police shot dead in coffee shop

Lakewood, Washington -- Four police officers were fatally shot Sunday in what police said was an ambush in a coffee shop near Tacoma, Washington.

The officers were sitting in the coffee shop in Lakewood, Washington, before the start of their shifts, reading on their computers, when the shooting occurred, said Sheriff's Department spokesman Ed Troyer. He told reporters that authorities believe the officers were meeting and going over cases or doing paperwork.

"This was a targeted, selected ambush," Troyer told reporters. He said a gunman came inside, opened fire and shot all four officers. Two baristas and other customers inside the shop were unharmed -- "just the law enforcement officers were targeted."

Authorities know the identity of the four fallen officers, and were in the process of notifying family members and their departments, he said. He would not say what agencies the officers were from, but said, "they're all from this area."

A $10,000 reward was offered for information leading to an arrest, he said.

Police are looking for one man and possibly a second person in the attack, which occurred about 8 a.m., Troyer said. The suspect is described as an African-American man, between 5 feet 7 inches and 5 feet 10 inches tall, wearing a black coat and blue jeans, with a "scruffy" appearance, he said. The man is believed to have fled the coffee shop on foot, he said.

Officers were working on getting additional descriptions from witnesses.

"We're doing everything we can," Troyer said. Authorities were conducting searches in numerous locations, he said, and dogs had been brought in to attempt to track the suspect.

There were no known threats against police before the incident, Troyer said.

Lakewood is about 40 miles south of Seattle and 10 miles southwest of Tacoma.

Bystanders gathered outside the coffee shop, some of them in tears.

The Forza Coffee Company is on the edge of McChord Air Force Base. Spokesman Bud McKay said the base was not shut down, but security was ramped up around the perimeter as a precaution.

The military has offered assistance to police, he said, but it has not been requested.

PARKLAND, Wash. - Authorities were searching Sunday for a gunman who walked into a coffee shop and shot and killed four police officers in what sheriff's officials described as a targeted "execution."

The gunman, who fled on foot, may have been wounded by return fire from one of the officers.

The officers, three men and one woman, were sitting in the cafe at a strip mall near the Tacoma suburb of Parkland with their laptop computers, preparing for their day shifts, when a man came in and opened fire without warning, Pierce County Sheriff's spokesman Ed Troyer said.

Huckabee commuted sentence of nig tied to police slayings

The nig whom police are seeking as a "person of interest" in the slaying of four police officers was released from an Arkansas prison nine years ago after a controversial decision by then-Gov. Mike Huckabee to commute his sentence.

Maurice Clemmons, 37, was identified late Sunday by the Pierce County Sheriff's Office as a man sought for questioning . Clemmons has pending charges in Pierce County Superior Court for second-degree child rape and third-degree assault for an attack on a police officer. He was released from custody in those cases after posting a $150,000 bond, according to the Lakewood Police Department.

Long before coming to Washington, Clemmons was serving a 35-year prison term in Arkansas for armed robbery but his sentence was commuted by then-Gov. Huckabee, who unsuccessfully sought the Republican nomination in his 2008 presidential bid, according to the Arkansas Times Web site.

After his release, he committed two armed robberies and other crimes and was sentenced to 10 years, but was later paroled, according to this column in the Arkansas Leader.

Huckabee, who was Arkansas governor for more than eight years beginning in 1996, granted sentence reductions to more than 111 people during his time in office. In commuting Clemmons' sentence Huckabee cited the fact that Clemmons was a teen-ager when he committed his crimes.

'You have broken your mother's heart'

In 1990, the then 18-year-old Clemmons was sentenced as a habitual criminal to 60 years in prison for burglary and theft of property.

Just before he was sentenced Clemmons reportedly took a padlock off his holding cell and tried to throw it a court bailiff, but accidentally struck his mother, who had come to bring him street clothes.

"You have broken your mother's heart," Circuit Court Judge Floyd Lofton said as he handed down the prison term, according to coverage in the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette.

" I have broken my own heart," Clemmons responded, according to the coverage of his sentencing.

Clemmons was found guilty of breaking into the home of a state trooper and taking more than $6,000 in valuables, including the trooper's gun.

In May of 1989, Clemmons was arrested for allegedly carrying a weapon on a Little Rock, Ark., high school campus. Clemmons, then 17, reportedly told officers he brought a .25-caliber pistol to school because he had "been chased and beaten by 'dopers,' " and if they got after him again he "had something for them."

Sgt. Mark Renninger. Renninger, 39, had 13 years of law enforcement experience and is survived by a wife and three children.



Ronald Owens. Owens, 37, had 12 years of law enforcement experience. He is survived by a former wife and a daughter.



Tina Griswold. Griswold, 40, had 14 years of law enforcement experience. She is survived by her husband and two children.



Greg Richards. Richards, 42, had eight years of law enforcement experience. He is survived by a wife and three children.

Unfortunately those Officers forgot they were living in a Warzone. They were wearing Bulletproof vests, but didn't take the precautions some Officers do, those who've been there and know whats lurking out there on our once-safe streets waiting to strike.
- Always sit facing the Door so any threats are coming at you.
- Always have full awareness of whats happening around you.
- Always watch body language.
- Always keep your gun hand free.

If they'd obeyed any one of those rules, they'd have been on alert as soon as he walked in with a hard stare, they'd have put hands on guns when he approached and put his hand out of sight, and they'd have riddled this Niggers body with bullets as soon as he pulled Iron.

A few Officers have taught themselves what they haven't been trained to do, and have had spectacular success with: Constantly watch for the telltale bulges of concealed weapons. They also watch for weird Nigger behavior, as this may well be a distraction for other Niggers preparing to strike from another direction.
