Black ex-footballer accused of rape twice in 5 months

Jamal Mosley, who quit the OSU football team after being accused of raping a female student in August, had been accused of raping another student in March.

A rape examination was performed and evidence was collected in that earlier allegation, but the case was closed when the victim decided not to cooperate in the investigation.

"At this time the victim is not sure if she wants to press charges because she does not want the suspect to lose his scholarship," states the Oklahoma State Unive
rsity Police Department report, dated March 12, that was obtained by the Tulsa World.

The report says the woman went into Mosley's room at Bost Hall late on the night of March 6 and waited for his arrival.

When he arrived, she thought he was drunk because of his behavior and loudness, which she said was the opposite of his "normal shy self."

The woman told campus police that she told Mosley "no" and tried to push him off when he initiated physical contact, according to the report.

She said he pinned her hands above her head and broke her zipper when he pulled off her jeans before forcing intercourse on her, the document says.

She told police that she went home but returned to Mosley's room after he sent her a text message about 12:30 a.m. March 7, asking her to come back and discuss the situation. She said she left when he again initiated sexual contact, according to the police report.

She told police that the two later
exchanged text messages:

"That's so messed u
p how you just took advantage of me and you have no idea," the report says she wrote to Mosley.

Mosley replied that he was sorry. Two days later, he texted again, saying, "Do what you have to do," the police report says.

A source close to the Cowboys football program indicated that Mosley and the woman dated for two months after the alleged rape.

OSU spokesman Gary Shutt said he is not sure if evidence collected in the closed case was kept on file or destroyed.

Shutt said police are still investigating the rape that is alleged to have happened in August.

The victim's relative said his family member is white but that the woman who told police Mosley raped her in March is black, "so they can't pull the race card on it."

The victim's relative said the incident is a "lose-lose situation" for everyone.

"We as a family have left it in the hands of the DA," he said.
