A 26-year-old St. Louis woman is facing charges that she sexually assaulted two young neighbor boys.

Tara Shenell Ivory is jailed on $100,000 bond. She is charged with four counts of statutory rape and one count of statutory sodomy.

Circuit Attorney Jennifer Joyce says three of the statutory rape charges involve alleged sex with a 6-year-old boy. One count of statutory rape and the statutory sodomy charge involve a 7-year-old boy.

Joyce says rape cases in which women are accused of the crime are rare.

ST. LOUIS -- A 26-year-old St. Louis woman remains jailed today on charges that she raped and sodomized two boys ages 6 and 7 years old, officials said.

The woman, Tara Shenell Ivory, of the 5000 block of Page Boulevard, is being held in the St. Louis city workhouse in lieu of $100,000 bond.

Circuit Attorney Jennifer Joyce charged Ivory on Oct. 25 with four counts of first-degree statutory rape and one count of first-degree statutory sodomy.

Ivory's arraignment date has been delayed while Joyce's office awaits a grand jury to hear it. If indictments are handed up by the grand jury, then Ivory will be arraigned.

The charges carry a minimum five year prison sentence and a maximum of life in prison.

Joyce said today that Ivory is accused of sodomizing and raping the boys, who were her neighbors. Three of the statutory rape charges involved alleged sex with the 6-year-old boy; one count of the statutory rape and the statutory sodomy charge involved the 7-year-old boy, court records show. "All child sexual abuse cases are serious," Joyce said. "I think this one is very unusual because she is a female defendant and we don't see that a lot."

Sounds like 'Joyce' is ignorant of TNB!
