Dad held for allegedly raping own child

Two men have been arrested for allegedly raping their children in Libode, Eastern Cape police said on Thursday.

Superintendent Mzukisi Fatyela said a 23-year-old father was arrested on Wednesday for allegedly raping his two-year-old child.

The matter was reported to the police after the mother saw signs that the child might have been raped.

In the same area, a 40-year-old man was arrested on Wednesday for allegedly raping his nine-year-old stepdaughter.

Both men would face rape charges in the Libode Magistrate's Court on Thursday. - Sapa
